Students of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) pleads with the instruction for their 2019/2020 session to be cancelled as they have stayed in a session for too long.
The varsity’s academic calendar had earlier been disrupted due to the prolonged strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASSU) which started in March 2020 and ended in December 2020.
This is following the new resolve made by University of Ibadan (UI) to cancel their 2019/2020 academic session and the new session to be renamed to 2020/2021.
With students being in a same session since 2019 it’s even more difficult to determine the year of graduation. Students from other universities also plead for the 2019/2021 session to be skipped / canceled so they can have the hope of graduating at their suppose year.
