Except if the Ministry of Education announces further directive, The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 (PTF) announced that the resumption of schools remains Monday, January 18.
This information was revealed during a press briefing in Abuja, by the national coordinator of the Presidential Task Force (PTF), Sani Aliu.
Orangecityz earlier reported that schools are unlikely to resume as Federal Government considers shifting the resumption date due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in the country.
Aliu noted that the date is to be adhered to in all states, except the ministry deems it fit to change based on the situation of the pandemic in the country.
As noted by Punch, The Presidential Task Force (PTF) coordinator said :
“As regards schools, I just want to make a clarification, what the minister said yesterday was that they were going to review, he didn’t say that they were going to change the date. He said they will review the situation and let the nation know.
“So, for the moment, it is still 18th January until the ministry of education comes back either with an alternative date or reconfirm that.”
