Breaking: Obaseki Scores Zero in Oshiomhole’s Polling Unit

Former All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader Adams Oshiomhole has won his polling unit, Unit 1, Etsako West LGA, for the candidate of the party in the ongoing governorship election. In the result sighted by Legit and published by Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored zero while APC polled 1201.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Godwin Obaseki emphatically cruised to victory in his polling unit in the ongoing September 19 gubernatorial election. Legit.ng recalls that Obaseki voted during the poll exercise at Emokpae Model School, unit 19, ward 4 in Oredo local government area of Edo state alongside his wife Betsy Obaseki. In another development, Legit.ng reported that it was a step to victory for Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer cruised to a comfortable victory at ward 5, Iguododo community in Orhionwon local government Area.

Ize-Iyamu polled 292 votes while Edo current governor, Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), got 21 votes. The former Edo chief of staff, who is eyeing the state’s most revered stool on the platform of APC, is presently having a tough run with 13 other candidates including Obaseki. Legit.ng had also reported that in what will be a big blow to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), a corps member working as INEC ad hoc staff has been arrested by the police after allegedly getting involved in election malpractices.

Ize-Iyamu polled 292 votes while Edo current governor, Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), got 21 votes. The incident occurred at Ward 4, PU 07, Ekpoma (Esan west LGA) area of the state. Legit.ng also reported that the Peoples Democratic Party alleged that card readers are not working in areas considered to be Governor Godwin Obaseki’s stronghold in the ongoing governorship election in Edo state. A statement issued on behalf of the party by Governor Obaseki’s media aide, Crusoe Osagie, stated that “There is deliberate election manipulation in areas where the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki is popular.”
